Able Seaman

As an Able Seaman, you’ll collaborate closely with a tight-knit team of colleagues. Serving as the captain’s trusted lookout, you’ll also impress your peers with your culinary skills, ensuring their satisfaction throughout the operations. You have an independent role, where you observe and alert in cases of doubt, in danger of damage, and in unexpected and suddenly changing circumstances. You strive for good quality of work and work according to regulations in the areas of safety, health, and environment.

Role Overview:

• Assist the engineer or master in equipment and materioal maintenance and repair
• Maintain a clean deck and ship, including cabins
• Vigilantly identifa and communicate potential dangers, uncertainties and abrupt changes in conditions
• Manage food storage for the journey
• Take charge of the kitchen, preparing delicious meals for the crew
• Stand security-related watches

Qualifications:

• Possess a valid seamans book
• Hold a current maritime medical examination certificate
• Complete Basic Safety Training
• Exhibit stromg cooking skills
• Demonstrate customer- and solution-oriented mindset
• Display initiative, assertiveness and flexibility in deployment
• Experience aboard small ships is advantageous
