June 29th the Guardian has been in an accident for the coast of Norway. The crew managed to board a life raft safely and were picked up by a rescue helicopter which took them to the Sea King base on Ørland, Norway.
At the moment it is still unclear what the exact damages are to the vessel. But thanks to the rapid response of the rescue team the vessel was kept from sinking.
Guardian and crew were on their way to the Sabetta project voor Jan de Nul in Russia. It is the fifth time we are participating in this project. The Libertas is still on her way to the project site on board of a trailing suction hopper dredger of Jan de Nul. She will start operations as usual upon arrival at project site.
