The Guardian performed 2 parts of trial campaign for DEME from December 2016 until January 2017. The first part of the trial campaign was held in the Rentel Concession, Belgium. At this location the project existed of supporting trenching and backfilling. The Guardian had to perform Side Scan Sonar survey of the entire trial area.

The second part of the trial campaign was held in the Hornsea concession, United Kingdom. At this location the activities were also supporting trenching and backfilling. At the Hornsea concession it was mandatory to perform a Drop Down Camera survey with a benthic specialist on board of the Guardian.

Once the benthic was performed and approved, the Guardian assisted the Breughel by performing MBES survey. When the trench and backfill campaign was fulfilled, the Guardian had to perform a Side Scan Sonar survey.
